How often is the database updated?
We update the database quarterly.
Our Process:
– Update Requests Sent Via Email – Three rounds of update requests are sent via email to each media outlet with their current information for confirmation or editing
– Statewide Calling – December/June – All media outlets who do not confirm or edit their information are called directly for confirmation or updates.
– Major Market Calling – March/September – Media Outlets in the Major Markets who do not confirm or edit their information are called directly for confirmation or updates.
How many media outlets are there in the database?
The number varies with each update.
Rough numbers for each market are
– Statewide – 1,880
– Dallas – Fort Worth – 375
– Houston – 300
– Austin – 170
– San Antonio – 150
What if I notice a media outlet is missing?
We want to know!
Please send media outlet information to us through our Contact Us Form. Be sure to include the name, web site address or a main phone number so we can research the outlet and get their information in the database.
Are there email addresses for every contact?
No, some media outlet want all press releases sent to a main email address and some want no press releases at all.
If a media outlet wishes to limit the information they share with us, or if they inform us that they do not accept press releases, we respect their wishes.
